Appliance Repair in St. Pete Beach, FL | Hartman's Appliance Repair

“During a service call, the technician determined that my washer needed a replacement part. He didn't have the part with him and told me he could order it, or I could purchase it online for less money. I chose to order it myself based on his recommendation, and he returned to install it. Just a few weeks later, the washer broke again. When I called the company, I was told that because I had purchased the part myself, neither the part nor the labor was covered under warranty, and I would have to pay for another service call and repair. I understand why they wouldn't warranty a part I purchased elsewhere, but I don't understand why I have to pay again for labor and another service call when the repair failed so quickly. More importantly, the technician never explained that using my own part would void any warranty on the labor. Had I known that, I would have made a different decision. Customers should be aware of this policy before deciding to purchase their own replacement parts. *****UPDATE**** Mark left a voice message first stating that it was unfair that I gave a one-star view and that he would repair at a discount in order for me to properly rate his company. I returned his call and told him I stood behind my review. The technician didn't state to me that the labor or warranty would be null and void if I got the part from Amazon; the very part that the technician helped me order on Amazon. He gave me the part number and pointed to it before ordering. Yes, I didn't read the fine print. I trusted that the technician and the company he worked for would not steer me wrong. I never said during the phone call that the labor was not the problem. How would I know which failed the part or the labor? I only knew that my washer was broken again. Mark offered to fix again for yet another fee. I declined. The trust is gone. We have all needed repair companies. When you find one that is great, you use them over and over and pass their contact information to others. The same goes when you find one that doesn't have your best interests. I read all the one star reviews for Hartman. The responses from the company are all condescending and quick to say "not our fault". These are the companies that should be avoided.”

More About St. Pete Beach

St. Pete Beach is a Florida resort city set on a barrier island, west of St. Petersburg. It’s known for its beaches. A 1928 landmark, the pink Moorish-style Don CeSar Hotel looms over the shore. The Pass-A-Grille area offers galleries, shops and the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, which displays postcards and other artifacts in a 1917 church. Nearby, boats depart to Shell Key, a nesting site for seabirds and turtles.

St. Pete Beach’s shores include the longest undeveloped stretch of public beach in the St. Pete/Clearwater area at Pass-a-Grille Beach. Live it up with a variety of watersports, from parasailing and stand-up paddle boarding to windsurfing and kite boarding.

There are plenty of places to set up camp in St. Pete Beach—the town is sprinkled with nostalgic Old Florida motels and inns. If you’d rather opt for the five-star experience, The Don CeSar, known as the Pink Palace, or the TradeWinds Island Resorts, offer beachfront property along with full-service amenities.

For lively diversions away from the shore, head to the Corey Avenue district. For over six decades, Corey Avenue has thrived at the heart of St. Pete Beach. There are a variety of funky specialty shops, galleries, restaurants and more. Plan to spend an hour or an entire afternoon just on this stretch of town.
